Freedom Through Veteran Assistance helps veterans and families find a practical starting point for services. A useful listing explains who a program serves, where it operates, what it does, and how to contact the organization. It also makes the limits clear.
Public resources and enrolled providers
Some entries are public resources independently researched by FTVA. Others may be providers that have separately applied to join the FTVA network. An independently added listing does not establish a partnership, endorsement, contract, or promise that the organization will accept a referral.
What we check when adding or substantially updating a resource
- An official program, government, or provider page supporting the listing.
- The service offered and the service area described by the organization.
- Published eligibility, fee, application, or referral information relevant to getting started.
- A direct route to the organization’s current contact or application instructions.
We aim to include the source and a checked date in newly researched entries. A checked date records when the public information was reviewed. It does not mean that staff contacted the organization, audited its work, verified all professional credentials, or confirmed current openings.
How guides are prepared
Our guides organize official information around a veteran’s next decision, such as whether to contact a benefits representative, legal aid program, or health care enrollment office. Sources are linked beside relevant information. We distinguish published program requirements from practical questions to ask.
Resource navigation is not a professional case assessment, medical recommendation, benefits decision, or promise of funding. We do not label content as reviewed by a lawyer, clinician, or another specialist unless that review actually occurred and is identified.
Costs and availability
Free information does not mean free treatment, representation, insurance, or financial assistance. Eligibility, service areas, funding, waiting lists, and charges can change. Confirm the actual service and full cost with the organization before committing to care or representation.
Corrections and updates
If a link no longer works or a listing is inaccurate, use our contact page. Include the FTVA page address, the public source supporting the correction, and a short explanation. Do not include private records or another person’s personal information.
We prioritize broken application routes, materially incorrect eligibility or cost information, and misleading affiliation language. A report is not a guarantee of an immediate response. Providers remain responsible for their own services and decisions.
